The United Nations Children’s Fund says kids in the Gaza Strip are bearing the brunt of Israel’s violence against Palestinians.
UNICEF says the escalating violence in Gaza has left children with physical injuries as well as growing signs of severe distress and trauma. According to the UN agency, half of all the children in the region depend on humanitarian assistance, and one in four of them needs psychosocial care. Israeli forces have killed several children and injured hundreds more in largely peaceful protests over the past five weeks. UNICEF also called on Israelis to curb the use of lethal force against unarmed demonstrators and keep children from harm.
