A Chinese naval task force made up of the guided-missile destroyer Changsha and the guided-missile frigate Liuzhou arrived in waters near the Lombok Island of Indonesia on Thursday to take part in a multilateral naval exercise.
A total of 50 naval vessels from 34 countries are going to participate in the Multilateral Naval Exercise coded Komodo 2018 from Friday to Wednesday, which will be hosted by the Indonesian Navy.
During the event, they will carry out various joint exercises on subjects such as maritime peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
