In this Sanaa hospital, new life comes with its fair share of challenges. Newborns here face a host of obstacles amidst the country’s ongoing war, including hunger, disease, and a lack of basic medical care. According to a UNICEF report released last week, more than three million have been born in Yemen since the escalation of the conflict in March 2015. Experts and humanitarian groups fear that this new generation will be left badly scarred by the world they have been born into – if they survive at all.
